Merry X-mas!

Merry X-mas, happy holidays, or just have a great weekend if you (like me) don't celebrate.

I'd celebrate if they came to visit...

And happy new year!

Software Review

Today, Im going to try something a little different for this blog. I will attempt to review a useful little piece of software I have come across.

What useful piece of software, you ask? Well, let me enlighten you. I speak of Dongsoft's ePub to PDF Converter. You see, I am an avid ebook reader but my favorite ebook format is PDF. Everything will read PDFs, PCs, my smartphone, my Sony eReader, etc. Unfortunately, a lot of the books I come across are in ePub format and since I refuse to change my PDF-loving ways, I instead choose to convert those ePubs to PDFs. I have tried a lot of tools in the past but this latest tool is by far the best one Ive had experience with, and let me tell you why.

To start with, ePub to PDF Converter has a very nice interface. Its pleasing to my eyes and keeps things simple.

The first screen the user sees
Once you make your selection for what you want to do, you continue to the next screen, which brings us to the next positive point of this software.

The second screen when converting an ePub to a PDF.
This software lets you convert many files at once. This can save a lot of time and energy and I know it can definitely come in handy for me and my collection.

Finally, the most useful feature of this program, it lets you choose the font size, margin size, and page height and width.
Change the output settings to suit your needs.

Choose from many predefined settings.
Alternatively, you can choose a preset optimized for one of many ebook reading devices. Among the included devices, I saw the iPod/iPhone family, the Nook family, and many others from many different manufacturers.

I found this device to be very useful and I can easily see myself using it for a long time to come. I encourage anyone with the same needs as me to check it out for themselves.

You can find this program by following this link: PDF to ePub Converter

Until next time, Im out.

Back from a long break

Its been a while...

So the Kos-Mos figma came in after being delayed for something like 6 months. I had also pre-ordered the movie version of Haruhi in figma form which came in a bit earlier. Im very happy with both figures and Ill post some pictures.

I also attended the Anime Expo 2011 where I took many pictures but my current PC's HDD is too full to process the images properly so Ill have to wait until my new HDDs get here and I move some stuff around. Once I do Ill upload some pictures I took. There was a lot of interesting cosplay and many great people there. I attended a great number of panels including Danny Choo's and FAKKU!'s panels which were very interesting. The two guys in charge of FAKKU! seem like great people and were very funny in all their panels but Ill talk about that later.

And of course there was some loot to be had as well. That will also be covered later.

For now just know that this blog lives yet.

Until next time, see ya!

Kos-Mos figma

So now that Play Asia has opened pre-orders for the figure it looks like I have another way of going broke. And here I was getting worried.

Ill pre-order my Kos-Mos next week when I get paid. Ill probably buy Atelier Rorona by the end of the month, too. Happy birthday to me (this November)!

Early March Loot

So, I finally got my Fate Testarosa The Movie 1st Ver. Figma and I like it a lot. The older version looks great, of course, but this one looks a lot fiercer and looks great alongside the Movie Nanoha.

Some unpacking action... and now some posing action.
And finally, some displaying action.
I totally recommend this figure to any Fate or Nanoha series fan.

I have gotten some loot over the last couple of days.

First and foremost, I got a digital camera, a Sony Cybershot DSC-W220. Using it, I have taken pictures of my other loot which includes White Knight Chronicles, Star Ocean 4 International, the guide for SO4 Int., and the Nanoha Takamachi Movie 1st version Figma.

I really like my new camera. The shots look really good. Here are a couple of shots taken with it.

And last but not least, a picture I took to test out the camera when I got it which I think came out pretty good.

So thats it, my loot for the week. I have Fate Testarosa Movie 1st Ver. preordered so Ill definitely post some pics of that when I get it.

Its been so long

I really should update this more often. Well, anyway, updates since the last post include my having beaten SO4 and enjoyed it, my having gotten a Wii thus completing the trifecta of consoles, and my having gotten a new computer and being in debt pretty bad because of it. Im currently paying back my credit card and it will be a few months more until Im free of that. In the meantime, school is starting up soon and Ill buy new books and whatnot.

Essentially, the message Im trying to get across is that Im pretty much flat broke as far as anime expenses go. Ill buy Phantom Brave Wii on Friday when I get paid again but aside from that, I wont be growing my figure collection very much.

On other news, I just finished reading The Dreaming Void by Peter F. Hamilton. Ill have to grab the sequel ASAP (Ill splurge on it. :D) Its totally worth it. So yeah, good stuff. I cant wait until I can have access to the Unisphere, err, I mean, the Internet from anywhere via my head. ^^

Until next time, sayonara! Alex out!
